Hyundai Providing Vehicles for G20 Seoul Summit

Hyundai is the official vehicle provider of the G20 Seoul Summit that is scheduled to be held in Korea’s capital on November 11-12 this year.

The automotive producer is offering a total of 129 vehicles for the event, with the fleet including its flagship model, the Equus, which will cater for the G20 leaders’ transportation needs. The cars were handed over today in front of the Coex Center in Seoul, where the summit will be taking place.

We are proud to provide the official vehicles for such a high-profile global event,” Hyundai Motor Vice Chairman Euisun Chung said during the handover ceremony. “This will be a great opportunity for world leaders to experience the high quality and great performance of our cars. We believe it will help to enhance Hyundai’s global brand value, as well as strengthen the Korean auto industry’s global competitiveness.

Hyundai Motor’s vehicles will contribute greatly to the success of the summit. The fact that the world’s leaders will be driven in Korean cars is something to be very proud of,” said Si-Hyung Lee, Ambassador at the Presidential Committee for the G20 Summit.

Hyundai wants to make sure that the transport will be fully covered, which is why the company is planning to send a 24/7 maintenance support team at all the major venues, including the event sites, hotels and airport. The team is specially trained to handle emergency situations.

Hyundai will also use the occasion to showcase its ‘Blue” eco-orientated technology. This will be achieved through the offering of vehicles such as the BlueOn EV, electric buses and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle buses for the summit staff.
