Lighting a fire using the force of the exhaust pipes was one of the least expected scenarios involving a Harley-Davidson we could think about. In fact, we never did.
However, it looks like Harleys have more fun factor about them than we expected, and seeing these guys revving up a bike to make the fire burn higher at an outdoor party was truly creative.

We were impressed by how powerful the exhaust gasses were and how much air they moved. Because you see, blowing exhaust gasses is not exactly the best way to help a fire burn: it's the Coanda effect which lies at the bottom of this.

Discovered early in the 20th century by Romanian aviation pioneer Henri Coanda, this effect is also responsible for the massive air flow of the Dyson bladeless fans. Coanda was the first to observe that a stream of fluid, air or liquids, tends to be attracted to a nearby surface, in this case the ground.

The negative pressure created by the “bent” gas stream causes the entrainment of surrounding air, which is subsequently blown towards the embers, and it high oxygen percentage fuels the flames.

Known physics principles or not, this Harley rider shows one of the most efficient fire-kindling techniques ever.
