If you want a cool visual effect in your Scion tC for about 20 bucks, you can install LED lights in your cup holders. The cool effect will also be amplified at night if you place a water bottle in the holder.
You’ll need some 12V LED stripes, a glue gun, a sharpie, electric drill with drill bits, some tape, a sharp knife and a pair of scissors. Here are the steps:
Unmount the cup holders. It should be pretty easy and all the trimming bits are just snapped into position
Take an LED strip and place it around the cup holders
Mark the positions of the diodes from the strip onto the cups
Drill the holes for the diodes
Clear the rough edges with the knife
Place the sticky tape on the inside of the cup holders to seal the holes
Use the glue gun and fill the holes from the other side
Let it cool a bit and place the LED strips over the filled holes, matching each diode with its corresponding hole
Glue the strip onto the cup holder
Find a 12V source in the car and wire the strip to it with a switch in between eventually.
