The only thing worst than crashing your bike into a vehicle is that vehicle being a big SUV, a van or a truck. While colliding with smaller vehicles is obviously not the best thing which can happen, the riders and passengers have significantly higher chances of being flung into the air, over the vehicle.
This thing is not happening in case of a collision with a van, unfortunately. The biker will indeed launch from his seat, but in most cases he or she will inevitably crash into the vehicle's side, While the softer sheet metal of the doors and the windows may be "lucky" spots, a body smashing into a door post will sustain massive or fatal injuries.
There are several reports of riders literally flying though the impacted vehicle, breaking one window and exiting through one on the opposite side, but these are so rare that they almost seem like legends.
