Honda Civic Type-RR First Official Photo

Although some people agree that a high-performance car is quite inappropriate for releasing during these difficult recession times, automakers continue their efforts to debut top-notch flavors of their cars. Honda is no exception to the rule so the Japanese manufacturer gave us a hint into how the future Civic Type-RR might look like. According to a report by autoexpress.co.uk, the first official photos with the car were published on the website belonging to Honda's tuning arm, Mugen.

As you can see in the adjacent photo, the car looks quite appealing and aggressive, partially thanks to the whole new bodykit comprising a new front bumper, extra cooling vents in the bonnet, new wheels and large rear wing. As for the interior, details remain unknown but Mugen might tease us a little bit more in the upcoming weeks so keep an eye on the news.

It's still too early to talk about the engine configurations but according to the aforementioned source the car will be powered by an uprated 2.0-liter VTEC engine that would generate somewhere around 237 bhp. Speaking of performances, the car would sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than six seconds, with a maximum speed rated at 155 mph (250 km/h). Other highlights include stiff suspension and sporty bodykit, the source wrote.

The car might be priced somewhere between 35,000 and 40,000 pounds but still, there are no official details at this point. Further information is expected to surface in the upcoming months, with a public unveiling likely to take place later this year.
