A well-known and respected name in Europe, Held seems to be faring much worse on the other side of the Atlantic: Held North America is closing down.
The cause which led to the decision to put an end to North American operations looks like poor sales. While Held is a common presence on the streets across Europe and has an almost cult following among riders, the brand's protective gears din not receive the same welcome across the pond.
Labeled as "Biker Fashion" Held's range of products kind of skips the entry-level point and is rather dedicated to offering mid-range and premium gear, whether we're speaking about boots, gloves, jackets and pants, both textile and leather. I wore Held high-end gear and it really lived up to my expectations
According to CMG, Held is not giving up for good, and is rather re-grouping to make a more successful re-rentry, possibly the way Suzuki did when they closed their former operations.
