German tuner Hartge has released details for its F30 BMW 3-Series project which has targeted the new 328i and its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.
Using only an ECU remap, they’ve managed to squeeze 45 horsepower more from the engine, so it’s now got 290 PS and 415Nm (306 lb-ft) at 2,700 rpm.
Hartge says the same upgrade is available for all models aquipped with the same engine, including the 528i version of the 5-Series, the sDrive28i version of the Z4, the X1 and X3.
To show what the extra power does for the performance of the car Hartge took it to the autobahn, where it completed the 80-180km/h (50mph-112mph) acceleration about 4 seconds faster than when the BMW was stock.
