A quick search of the internet will reveal that the 1-Series M Coupe, or 1M as some people call it, is one of the most desired BMWs of the moment. Despite only having six cylinders, it’s only 0.1 seconds off the pace set by the more powerful E92 M3.
However, this purist’s has fans and plenty of potential, thanks to its lively chassis and focused suspension. Thus, it’s the perfect car to tune into a real beast!
German tuning company Hartge has created just such a monster. Using the magic of engine remaps, the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six has been boosted from 340 PS to a massive 401 PS. That’s the sort of power the M3 has, but of course the 1M is also much lighter.
Hartge says the 1-Series M will now run from 0 to 200km/h (124mph) in a time of 11.34 seconds.
There are also cosmetic upgrades available, including a set of their own wheels, a boot lip spoiler and even custom quad exhaust.
