It's hard to believe that so many iterations of the same basic motorcycle can mean so many different things for the onlooker. Yet you need not search further than the Breakout to become convinced of this reality.
The Harley-Davidson-made Softail has been around, with interruptions, since 2013, and during all this time it not only won the hearts of countless customers, but has quickly become a favorite model for conversions.

There are probably thousands of them out there already, with a good chunk of that small army already featured here on autoevolution. Some are more impressive than others, but all are unique in their own way, despite the commonalities between them.

The GTO 5 is a Breakout true and true, but with enough custom bits on it to become a real adrenaline rush from the moment you set eyes on it.

The bike is the work of Swiss custom garage Bundnerbike, makers of many incredible Harleys over the years, including the most expensive one ever produced, the $2 million Bucherer.

The build is part of a series of bikes that also includes the GTO, another Breakout-based conversion for the ages. Unlike that one though, the GTO 5 brings a host of amazing novelties, mixed with standard pieces of equipment that were kept not only for kicks, but also for their usefulness.

The ride is propped on the original Breakout wheels, slightly modified as to appear custom, and with the one at the rear coming with a visibly wider rim than we're used to. They are placed at the end of a continuously variable air suspension system that lowers or raises the chassis depending on needs.

The engine is the stock Breakout one as well, most likely the 114ci version used before Harley dropped onto customers' heads the 117ci-powered Breakout. It too makes use of new hardware, in the form of a Bundnerbike air filter, and an aftermarket exhaust system of undisclosed make.

A host of other original Harley bits and pieces were mixed throughout the bike with aftermarket ones, and then the entire package got a beautiful paint treatment in black and copper.

We have no way of knowing how much the Harley-Davidson GTO 5 costs in this configuration because the Swiss are never ones to reveal such things. But as some of you already know, such builds are never cheap, and on top of that Bundnerbike is not one to cut corners to save a buck. So it's not difficult to imagine the GTO 5 at least doubling the price of the Breakout it is based on.

Which, for reference, sits at $20,999 for the 2023 model-year bike with the 117 engine in the frame.
