Hamilton Denies Purchasing Luxury Yacht

Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton denied the latest reports issued by British tabloid The Sun regarding the purchase of a 5.6 million euro Sunseeker 90 luxury yacht. Soon after making the headlines of the aforementioned publication's Friday edition, Hamilton's spokesman issued a quick statement on the matter.

“Contrary to unreliable reports, Lewis Hamilton would like to confirm that he has not bought a super yacht,” red the statement.

The Sun tabloid had revealed on Friday that work on a personalized Sunseeker 90 was under way at the company's headquarters in Dorset. According to the aforementioned source, the new yacht was to receive a black-and-silver color scheme, similar to Hamilton's McLaren M4-24 paint job.

The rumor about Hamilton being interested in purchasing the Sunseeker appeared soon after the McLaren ace visited the London Yacht Show in mid-January. Being that he was present at the event shortly after securing a £70 million mega-deal with McLaren Mercedes, everyone jumped at the conclusion that he wouldn't mind celebrating it by purchasing this very fine, expensive yacht.

Nonetheless, Hamilton's spokesman then issued a quick statement, just like today, insisting that Hamilton was just visiting the Show in the company of some yacht-enthusiastic friends.

“He was back in London and went to the show with some friends who just really like boats,” had insisted the spokesman.
