As far as we know, only a couple of Hamann’s Mirror M5s are now roaming the streets of the world, most of them in the United Arab Emirates, where the first kits were sold.
If there’s something we didn’t like about Hamann’s creation, it was the front fascia of the thing that looked a lot like it was frowning at us, with some huge ‘eyelashes’ just above the headlights.
Remove those and we can actually live with this kind of an M5, the rest of the wide body kit being very aggressive but also not over the top. Up front, the bumper was changed and the wheel arches received some generous flares.
Round the back, two spoilers were installed (probably for more downforce) and a new bumper, of course. The car we’re looking at today, seems to come from the same state we were talking about above, wearing Qatar plates.
The color it’s wearing seems to be some kind of Matte Grey with the usual M stripes drawn on top from the bonnet and front grille all the way back to the boot lid.
While it did catch out attention immediately, knowing what sort of cars are rolling around in the London supercar scene, we’re guessing the locals are pretty used to even more expensive and rare cars and they’re not as easily impressed. Just look at the cars parked around it and you’ll get what we mean.
Under the bonnet, Hamann didn’t change a thing. However, the stock V8 used by BMW for the F10 M5 might make more HP in this application that the 560 HP claimed by the Bavarians. That’s because, the exhaust tips seems to point to an Akrapovic exhaust which doesn’t only bring a better sound but also a little more power.
