The current Guinness Book World Record for the world’s longest drift was set by Adbho Fenghali, Red Bull's racing driver, just a month ago, on February 18, 2013. He drifted almost two times more than Wang Qi did, for the previous record of 5,802 m (19,035 ft 4.74 in.) set at World Drift Series in Tianjin, China in 2011.
Going around for 43 laps in 14.28 minutes, Abu drifted for a total of 11,180 m (36,679 ft 8 in). Johan Schwartz, BMW's Performance Driving Instructor will attempt to brake this record in a charity event hosted by the BMW Performance Center.

In order to achieve this challenging goal, Johan will drive a 560 HP M5 around the BMW skid pad, the same used to teach students how to handle unexpected situations.

Johan's goal is to set a record that will last for a long time, a total of nearly 40 miles. All the proceeds go to charity and you can help by contacting Johan and signing up to become an official sponsor.
