BMWs are great drift cars. Everyone knows it, everyone wants one, especially if it's an E34 M5 or and E30 M3, like the one in the video we're about to show you.
The problem with getting a powerful E30 M3 sideways is that this may bring trouble. We're not talking only about speeding tickets here, but also about maneuverability and mechanical issues. Watching so many incredible drift videos online might make you think that what they're doing is easy.
However, as most of them tell you at the beginning, or at the end, those videos are done on a closed course, by professionals. That's a fair warning so that you don't try this anywhere else.
The gentleman in this video decided that a mall parking lot will be just as good as a closed course. We've seen that before. Drifting in parking lots is actually more common than we'd like to admit. However, most of the time, the guys doing it are pretty good and (this is paramount!) they do it during the day.
There's a reason why they drift in the daylight: you can see those pesky poles that tend to change their position at night (we're kidding of course). On a more serious note, visibility is key, even when driving inside a closed parking lot, as this poor Bimmer aficionado learned (the hard way) in his mid-night adventure.
