The Japanese automaker has been more proficient than ever in showing its strategy for refreshed, all-new, and first-ever models this year. But that's still not enough for the parallel universes of vehicular CGI – they also want some revivals on the menu.
Toyota had a mind-blowingly busy year. In America alone, it unleashed stuff like the Corolla Cross Hybrid, Prius Prime plug-in hybrid, a trio of GR special editions (GR86 Trueno, GR Corolla Circuit, GR Supra 45th Anniversary), countless Nightshade limited models, the Grand Highlander, N400 Tacoma, 2024 Land Cruiser, plus the 2025 Camry and Crown Signia – just to name a few.

More are coming, of course, such as an all-new 4Runner (because it's growing long in the tooth), the next-gen RAV4 best-seller, and so on. However, the rumor mill and the imaginative realm of digital car content creators think there's room for even more. For example, reports claim that Toyota could start a brawl with the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz for America's compact pickup truck crown with the return of the Stout nameplate.

There are also rumors about the Land Cruiser turning into a veritable family of models with a compact version rocking the same TNGA-F body-on-frame platform as the J250 and J300 Land Cruisers but also acting as a spiritual successor to the FJ Cruiser on the way to teaching the Ford Bronco Sport how to portray an off-road-focused compact SUV properly. Then, of course, there are also the sports cars.

Some venues believe that Toyota will expand the GR family with potential revivals of the iconic MR2 mid-size sports car and the legendary Celica. Well, on this occasion, let us focus on the latter with help from the good folks over at the PoloTo, Q Cars, and Auto Redesign channels on YouTube, which all have some CGI visions about the potential revival of the Celica coupe.

The resident pixel master from PoloTo believes that we are not going to get too confused seeing how they mixed and matched with help from AI software the looks of the small and affordable GR86 with the styling of the bigger and 'bad-to-the-BMW-bones' GR Supra. However, we did get a little dizzy, so we will not give this unofficial design project our thumbs up. How about you?

Moving on, the CGI expert from Auto Redesign also used many AI tricks to make us believe they found the perfect recipe for the Celica revival. Well, again, we feel like it's not exactly what is needed to ensure success in the real world – the only one that winks at us is the GR Celica version in white, where the trickster adapted the LFA design to make it a bit more Toyota-ish. Or something like that.

Anyway, once again, the virtual artist from Q Cars nails the hypothetical design like a charm. The crimson Celica is not only modern and stylish but effortlessly reveals how old-school models can mate with the latest hybrid or EV technology to make them relevant again. Besides, the author also reinterpreted the Celica as a sporty four-door fastback sedan – and it looks just as cool if you need our two cents on the CGI matter.

So, which one is your favorite? Secondly, would you like to see Toyota implement a Celica revival with ICE power under the hood, or should they just bring it to market with the latest hybrid (or PHEV) and EV technology developments?
