Valentino Rossi will be present in Valencia for the race on the eighth of November, Yamaha's Lin Jarvis has confirmed recently. After the Race Direction announced that Rossi had been handed a three-point penalty and that, with a total of four, he would be forced to start at Valencia from the back of the grid, Yamaha appealed to the FIM.
However, their appeal was rejected by the FIM steward with whom it was filed, and the case was closed. That is, closed with maintaining the initial decision. After the appeal was rejected, Rossi spoke with Gazzetta dello Sport and said that his presence in Valencia was no longer a certain thing, and that he had to think about this matter.

The incident between Rossi and Marquez at Sepang remains a sensitive affair, as some of the angles clearly show the Spaniard bumping into the Italian first. At the same time, the footage seems not concludent for establishing that Rossi kicked Marquez, raising even more suspicions on the entire deal.

Still, even if Rossi has to work his way through the entire field at Valencia, we know he will be present and give his utter best in that race that can still get him his tenth world title. "At least he is not injured," Jarvis added. "That would have been the worst-case scenario," the Yamaha official concluded.

Stoner as Ducati test rider?

New rumors involving Casey Stoner and Ducati surface, as the Australian rider is once more believed to be secretly drawing nearer to Ducati. However, those who hope to see him as a factory rider should do well and keep their hopes low.

Speedweek has been tracking down some hints that may indicate that Stoner is more than welcome with Ducati. The magazine believes that he is expected, invited to join his old team, and mentions that all the doors at Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche, and more are open for him. Since all these are part of the VW-Audi group, Speedweek believes this may be significant.

Ducati Corse officials have never dissimulated their excitement for having Stoner back in any combination. Factor the lack of love Honda and Stoner exhibited this year after HRC denied the Aussie a race as a substitute for Pedrosa, and the error that led to Casey crashing hard at Suzuka, and seeing the MootoGP legend with red liveries no longer seems such an improbable scenario.
