Liam Doran won the gold medal at the Munich X-Games, at MINI RX's debut in the competition on Saturday and went on to win the silver too in the Sunday final.
Before the competition even started, Prodrive said that the Munich circuit was perfect for the little MINI and they proved to be right. Saturday, Liam was the fastest in the qualifying runs and had the pole position.

After a great start he had to concede the lead for a short while but returned to the top spot and eventually distanced himself from the followers. 3 laps before the race was over though, he had a flat tire that led to his tire coming off of his rim. However, thanks to his amazing lead, Liam managed to still win the event, bringing the first gold medal for the MINI RX.

On Sunday, Doran was again amongst the winners, even though he didn't start from pole position. He took the lead after the first turn though but immediately after he had a technical problem, a rear steering control arm failing  and pointing in the wrong direction for the rest of the race. Even so, Liam managed to finish second and win a silver medal.

"I guess I was disappointed not to win the second final too, but still it now means I have got two different colored medals. It's been a great weekend and we've come away with far more than I expected in a brand new car against the best drivers in the world. The car was really good, the team worked hard and I can't wait to get to the US," said the MINI RX Driver after the race.
