GM EN-Vs Enter the London Design Museum

GM is willing to make the most out of its EN-V (Electric Networked Vehicle) concepts, with the vehicles being showcased one event after another. This week, the scale models of the EN-Vs will be displayed at London’s Design Museum for the Brit Insurance Design Awards.

GM is bringing three incarnations of the EN-V to the Museum (the Jiao, Xiao and Miao), with the egg-shaped vehicles set to be showcased along a multitude of interesting design proposals. The company brags that each of them comes with its own personality and design theme to demonstrate the flexibility of their propulsion platform.

Let’s see how the automotive producer describes each of the vehicles:
  • EN-V Jiao (Pride), developed by GM Europe’s design team in Germany, takes its design influence from bullet trains and Chinese opera masks showcasing clean lines and bright red and white paintwork.
  • EN-V Xiao (Laugh), designed by GM Holden’s design team in Australia, offers a light-hearted appeal with its “gumball blue” paint and nautical-inspired design.
  • EN-V Miao (Magic), designed at GM’s Advanced Design Studio in California, takes most of its design cues from the consumer electronics industry, as evidenced by its sleek, masculine looks, also displaying innovative lighting solutions (eg LED accent lighting).

The Brit Insurance Designs Awards, "the Oscars of the Design World," showcase the most innovative and forward thinking designs from around the world. Last year's winner, was the Folding Plug by Min-Kyu Choi that revolutionizes a humble, but essential, piece of everyday equipment,” stated the press release.
