Ginetta G55 Official Renderings Surfaced

The Leeds-based sport-car maker Ginetta Cars Limited has released the official renderings of the highly anticipated race car G55, that will join the G50 in the company’s own racing series and also race alongside other brands in GT4.

Ginetta announced plans to spice up the Michelin Ginetta G50 Cup, which is going to be called the Ginetta GT Supercup with the addition of the new G55 model. The auto event will emulate the class structure of the Le Mans series, ALMS and British GT and competitors will benefit from having a separate points system and podiums.

The launch of the 370 hp Ginetta G55 racer will be made at Autosport International on January 13th. The car gets its power from a 3.7 litre Ford engine and transmits it to the wheels via a Hewland gearbox. The car has a cool air induction kit,
upgraded front and rear breaks, new exhaust system, and improved bodywork, reducing drag.

The car will set you back about GBP 75,000 and entry in the new 2011 Ginetta GT Supercup will be GBP9,750 + VAT for a G50 and GBP11,750 + VAT for the G55.

"The G50 has dominated GT4 since its launch 2 years ago and proved itself as a real stepping stone into the GT4 arena. By introducing the G55 into the new Ginetta GT Supercup, I want to broaden Ginetta's offering to all drivers expanding our career ladder even further and highlight a real route into GT3 - whilst still providing an affordable way to enjoy top level racing," said Gineta boss, Lawrence Tomlinson.
