The Geneva Auto Show brings the new VW family face to the company’s mid-size SUV, the Tiguan. The vehicle has received a facelift, which brings changes in multiple areas, including the exterior, interior, as well as the engine range.

Considering that the vehicle has been on the market since 2007, it was about time the German automotive produce offered it a new identity. Tiguan buyers can now choose between three new engines. We’ll mention the one that really sounds appealing to us, as it is borrowed from the Golf GTI. We are talking about a 2.0-liter TSI turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline unit that delivers 210 hp.

The exterior changes are focused on the front end, but also target other areas of the car. Like we said, the Tiguan now uses the horizontal VW face, offering a redesigned grille with two horizontal chrome stripes and fresh headlights. The trapezoidal lower air intakes house the fog lights and are separated by a new center element which offers the vehicle a dynamic look. Another important exterior element is the new design of the taillights, which offers a a sporty image.

As for the interior, this comes with enhanced materials, regardless of the trim level chosen. In addition to that, the car also comes with more features. We’ll just name a part of the standard goodies: Bluetooth connectivity, aux-in, power-adjustable heated side view mirrors and six airbags.

The revamped Tiguan comes with a starting price of EUR24,175 (this is the German market price).
