Following the recent opening of a Citroen dealership immediately adjacent to a Peugeot dealership and combining them into a single entity, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co. have announced their desire for all future dealerships to be built in this way.
The two dealerships were recently opened in the central-Chinese city of Wuhan (a city of 10,000,000 inhabitants) by a local businessman. Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen, the joint venture between PSA Peugeot Citroen and Dongfeng Motor Corp., have decided also decided that following the merging of dealerships, the two companies’ marketing teams will work together, for even better combined results.
With as many as 650 PSA dealerships in China, they plan to increase their current market share of 3.3% to 5% by 2015, and they seem to be on the right track, with sales in the first part of 2012 exceeding the same period of 2011 by 8%.
