Another day another set of unlikely yet very interesting rumors about the future BMW lineup. We already know that the numbers from 1 to 6 will all be taken up by some sort of crossover or SUV from BMW, but what else is there.
Well, BMW Blog returns with yet more rumors of the fabled BMW X7. This car has been circulating and grinding away in the rumor mill for a number of years now, since the Bavarians never had a rival for bigger SUV to sell to the overweight American buyers.
However, the X7 contradicts older, and more believable reports suggesting that a long wheelbase SUV called the X5L will take up this mantle.
The new reports suggest that the X7 will have a more car-like design approach, which we expect is the result of an elongated body that takes up three full rows of seats. It should rival the next Range Rover and use parts from the 7-Series and X5.
Also rumored to be on BMW’s to-do list are an X8 crossover and a re-envisioned version of the Concept CS, this time taking the form of a long wheelbase 7-Series.
