French Cars Landing in Ireland: Citroen to Open Retail Group

The Citroen Retail Group will open a new retail premises in Dublin before the end of 2011. The new showroom, which will also act as the new headquarters for Citroen Ireland, will be the first Irish based dealership within the Citroen Retail Group portfolio, which already owns 12 sites across the UK.

Located at the Airside Retail Park in Swords, the dealership will clearly target the Dublin market. It also increases the French carmaker’s national network to 27 dealerships (5 within the Dublin area).

“The opening of the Citroen Retail Group site will significantly enhance our dealer network in the important Dublin area as well as underlining Citroen’s long term commitment and vision for the brand within Ireland,” Frederic Soulier, Managing Director for Citroen Ireland commented.

“The announcement of our new site in Dublin demonstrates the dynamic expansion of the Retail Group and comes during a very exciting time for the brand. The hugely successful Citroen DS3, alongside the recently launched New Citroen C4 and Citroen DS4, will be joined in 2012 by the Diesel Hybrid Citroen DS5,”
added David Peel, Citroen Retail Group Chief Executive for UK and Ireland.

“The new Dublin dealership will open its doors ahead of the key January car sales month with customers being able to visit the new showroom from the end of the year. We are confident that the new site will become a flagship and we look forward to establishing it as a premier destination for new Citroen customers in Ireland,” Peel added.

As well as providing customers with more opportunities to view the Citroen brand, the new dealership is sure to bring a welcomed job boost to the Dublin motor industry.
