German manufacturer Volkswagen will present at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show the new version of the already successful Volkswagen Polo, the three-door variant. Compared to the regular version, the three-door brings a sportier look, as well as a few upgraded visual components.
Unlike its five-door brother, the new Polo brings new styling of the row of side windows and more dynamic-looking C-pillars.
"The Polo range is gaining tremendous momentum here. The declared goal is to accelerate sales of the Polo to match those of Europe’s most successful car, the Golf," Volkswagen said in a release.
The three-door version will arrive in dealerships this autumn and will be available for a starting price of 12,150 euros (entry level Polo 1.2 Trendline with ESP). The choice of engines for the car extends to six, with power outputs ranging from 60 PS to 105 PS. There will be three equipment levels available: Trendline, Comfortline and Highline.
The entry level trim, Trendline, is offered with ESP, daytime running lights, power-assist steering, electric windows in front, central locking, cargo area lighting, warning buzzer for light left on, height adjustment on driver’s seat, vanity mirrors and tinted windows.
The top of the range Highline, which is priced at 15,900 euros, features chrome trim on the lower air intake, 15-inch alloy wheels and front fog lamps, three-spoke leather steering wheel, front centre armrest, multi-function display and tire pressure indicator, height-adjustable sport seats and leather-trimmed handbrake grip and gear knob.
