Citroen loves to do the retro thing, so it’s gone into the past to bring us their future. The Tubik concept, unveiled for the first time at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, is there to pay homage o the legendary 1939 Tub van and its replacement from after the war, the 1948 Type H.
Back then, the van was sort of like the ugly duckling’s big brother who also had the nose of a pig, and while some of these features are still there, the Tubik is more of a streamlined version of that.

Citroen is calling their concept a high-tech executive shuttle, so they have fitted it with seating for up to nine passengers. It’s also technologically advanced, running on the new Hybrid4 full-hybrid diesel powertrain that combines a diesel engine driving the front-wheels and an electric motor that powers the rear axle.
