Frank Lampard Clocked at 93mph in 50mph Zone

It's a well-known fact that footballers have enough money to buy anything they want and when we say anything, we also think of fast cars we only dream about. This is also the case of Chelsea's star Frank Lampard who was recently caught by police speeding and is now facing trial in the UK.

A report by The Sun reveals that the England midfield was clocked at no less than 93 mph (150 km/h) in a 50 mph (80.5 km/h) zone on the A3 Esher bypass at Claygate, Surrey.

Chelsea's footballer did not attend the hearing on Thursday, but his defense attorney asked for the DVD footage to determine whether the police's speed gun was correctly calibrated. The court however rejected the application, with a new hearing to be held on March 3 at Staines Magistrates' Court.

“I am not making any order under Section 8 and if the defence decide to renew their application it will be heard by the bench hearing the trial," District Judge Timothy Workman was quoted as saying by getsurrey.

Lampard, who is 32-year old, owns an impressive lineup of vehicles, including a very expensive Ferrari and an Aston Martin, according to the aforementioned source. In an interview with Top Gear some time ago, Lampard revealed that the car he loves the most is his DB9 and admitted that the car he'd love to drive before he dies is a Rolls Royce.

"I'm happiest on my own, in my DB9, listening to Keane's Hopes and Fears," he said about his favorite ride.
