Ford Transit Door Testing

Th next generation of Ford Transit is just around the corner. It will have brand new Front end styling at the front that will make it remarkably similar to Focus or C-Max that regular motorists will drive. Other innovations should include more park assist features and a focus placed on EcoBoost engines.
We have no official information from Ford right now, but rumor has it the new Transit will enter production in Europe in the late part of 2012.

Of course Ford isn’t actually an American automaker if you only look at the European market models. It’s more German than anything else, and the Saxon attitude to quality building has been translated to the van market as well.

To ensure that the doors on the van can survive for many years of hard work, a special robot has been put to good use testing them at ‘very extreme closing speeds’. The front doors have been tested 250,000 times, while the sliding rear ones have been slammed shut 150,000 times. This is done in a climate-controlled room that can generate anything from arctic chills to tropical heat.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
