The production version of Ford’s upcoming Escort C-segment car, which will be launched on the Chinese market next year, has surfaced the web in a batch of patent photos.
Showcased as a concept car at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, the new Ford Escort has been designed with the help of Ford Australia and developed to become a key contender in the Chinese C-segment market by 2015.
Somewhat similar to the Fusion/Mondeo, the compact sedan sports the Blue Oval’s familiar hexagonal grille and is set to arrive with LED headlamps, Focus-like tailights, and various chrome trimmings. Little else is known about the new Escort, but word has it the sedan will become available in Europe as well.
An iconic car on the Old Continent, the Ford Escort was introduced back in 1968 and remained in production until 2002, when it was discontinued after five generations.
