Five Lexus Vehicles Abandoned in Vietnamese Port

Looks like smugglers took advantage of the incentives on Vietnamese repatriates’ imported cars to illegally introduce them into the country.
So five Lexus cars totaling about $1 million are held up at the Da Nang port after a HCM City-based company refused to receive them, claiming that they were sent to a wrong address.

At the beginning of June, a container carrying three Lexus LX 570 arrived from the port of Oakland in Da Nang, labeled as repatriates’ assets for private company based in Tan Binh, which denied it’s theirs. Three days later, two more Lexus came in from Hong Kong, sharing the same story.

As nobody want to claim the five cars and returning them back costs too much, they are now “abandoned” at the warehouse of the Tien Sa Port. Local police started an investigation to find out what is with the odd “unwanted” luxury vehicles.
