Land Rover has delivered its first Evoque, with the car, a five-door model dressed Stornaway Grey, allowing Zara Phillips, the automaker’s ambassador, to leave the scene of the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, where she competed this weekend.
Land Rover UK Marketing Director, Laura Schwab, offered Zara the keys to her new car at the event, which saw 60 Land Rover vehicles in action - the car were being used Competition officials, fence judges and medical teams. Zara’s Evoque is powered by a 2.2-liter diesel engine that uses a six-speed automatic transmission and comes with features such as a panoramic sunroof, features including park assist, blind spot monitoring and a surround camera system.
Zara, who is one of the UK’s top equestrian figures and has been a Land Rover ambassador since 2006, was happy to receive the vehicle.
"I've grown up around Land Rovers and have been an ambassador for the brand for several years – I am really looking forward to getting behind the wheel of my new Evoque. It looks absolutely fantastic and I am delighted to be the first person in the UK to take delivery of one," Zara said.
The Range Rover Evoque reaches UK showrooms this week, but the automotive producer has already received more than 20,000 pre-orders worldwide, with 6,000 of them coming from the UK. The company will hold special launch events at its UK dealerships on Thursday 8 September, with customer deliveries scheduled to debut on Friday.
