As it was expected, the guys from autoblog were also invited over in Germany to take a ride in a couple of prototypes of the upcoming BMW F80 M3 and F82 M4. The guys had a lot of fun over there and they also shared their opinions.
Unfortunately, the BMW people didn't allow anyone else except their own DTM drivers to drive the cars but still, riding shotgun did provide a couple of thrills, on the closed airfield that turned into a veritable Bimmer testing ground.

Apart from all the technical specs we covered earlier, there's more to the M3 and M4 than what's written on paper. Sure, everything sounds good but when all those innovations are put together, the result is impressive.

The cars they were in were all manuals, a good sign of keeping BMW heritage alive. The most important thing they noticed while on the passenger seat was the grip the rear end had. The active differential was working so good that even if you weren't driving you could feel just how easy it is to control the car.

Another interesting detail they spotted was that both cars felt instantly ready to go. Even though the engine has 2 turbochargers and the turbo lag should've made its presence felt, the torque was there immediately and the power delivery came almost instantly.

We really like what we're hearing these days and, hopefully, all these good reviews will keep coming after the official cars are launched also, proving that the M division has reconnected with its roots.
