Fiat Sponsors F1 and MotoGP Wrooom 2011 Event

After its recent split with Yamaha’s MotoGP team, many wondered what would Fiat’s next step be and whether the Italian manufacturer will continue to associate its image with another squad from the respective racing series. Naturally, every eye was on Ducati, considering Valentino Rossi’s recent arrival to the factory team.

The automaker, however, has only been related yo the Wrooom 2011 – F1 & MotoGP Press Ski Meeting event so far, where it took part as Sponsor and Official Car.

The event included stars of Formula 1 and MotoGP, such as Ferrari Marlboro Team drivers, Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, and also drivers from the Ducati Marlboro Team, Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden.

Wrooom 2011 includes ski competitions, torchlight parades, press conferences, single-seaters and motorcycles on display, party nights and also the traditional closing race on the lake with the drivers aboard a fleet of Fiat 500 cars, all to celebrate the twenty-first edition of Wrooom.

Fiat has provided the organisation with a fleet of Fiat 4x4 cars (Panda and Sedici models) to ferry the guests around and a brand new 2011 range Jeep Wrangler for a high-altitude photo shoot.

The Jeep Wrangler vehicle is in the Rubicon outfit and equipped with the new 2.8 litre turbodiesel common-rail Euro 5 engine with DPF as standard. The new 2.8 delivers 200 HP at 3600 rpm and 410 Nm of torque at 2000-3200 rpm on models with manual six-speed gearbox and 460 Nm at 1600-2600 rpm when combined with the new five-speed automatic gearbox.
