Fiat Qubo Trekking Comes at Frankfurt

Fiat today announced that the Qubo Trekking will be officially displayed at the Frankfurt Auto Show next week. The new model, which is targeting "nature lovers, outdoor sports and leisure enthusiasts," as the Italian manufacturer said in a release, is powered by 1.3-liter Multijet engine generating 75 horsepower and releasing just 115 grams of CO2 every kilometer. As for fuel consumption, the Qubo Trekking with "Traction+" burns 3.7 liters of gasoline every 100 kilometers (63.5 mpg). And because we told you about Traction+, the system is available on models featuring ESP and controls and manages the braking system. As a result, the car is easier to handle even on slippery surfaces, Fiat assures. The system works at speeds of up to 30 km/h and can be easily turned on using a button on the dashboard. Other features on the new model include roof bars, privacy rear windows and special wheel arches with 185/65 R15 M+S tires, all of them offered as standard. ABS with EBD, fog lights, 3 point seat belts with pre-tensioner and load limiter, hydraulic power steering, front and side airbags are also available across the range. The car boasts a luggage compartment volume of 330 liters, with the seats in their normal position. With the rear seats removed, the carrying capacity is increased to 2,500 liters which, according to Fiat, is the best in its class. autoevolution will be attending the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of these vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions.
