Fiat 500 Gets Business Award

Though it has been on the market for two years, the Fiat 500 continues to gather trophies. This year, the little crowd pleaser managed to win the BusinessCar "City Car" award for the second consecutive time.

In the Italian’s trophy case for the Fiat 500 also lies one of the most important awards from UK’s auto industry: Car of the Year 2008. Alongside these awards, you’ll be able to see several distinctions from the UK’s leading consumer and trade.

“Fiat looks like it’s now secured this category for the long term, with the 500 comfortably taking the win for the second year in a row,” says Paul Barker, editor, BusinessCar. “It’s a winning formula.”

“Another award from a top title is always welcome,”
says Andrew Humberstone, managing director, Fiat Group Automobiles UK. “The Fiat 500 has continued to sell well to retail customers and has caught the imagination of large and small fleets too, so we are delighted to see further support from BusinessCar in this excellent category win.”

The Fiat 500 is available in the UK with three Euro 5 engine choices: 69 bhp 1.2-litre and 100bhp 1.4-litre petrol, or 95 bhp 1.3-litre MultiJet turbodiesel. Once you’ve managed to choose the one that works for you, decide on one of the three different trim levels: Pop, Sport and Lounge. The starting price is of £9,300, while the looks and efficiency, along with excellent residual values make the Fiat 500 a car with excellent value for money.
