Fiat 500 Convertible Teaser Rolled Out

With less than a month left until Fiat 500 Convertible makes its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, the Italian manufacturer rolled out a teaser photo giving us a glimpse into how the future car will look like. Until now, only little was known about the convertible flavor of Fiat 500 and it will remain so for a while as the manufacturer does not intend to show us too many details. However, Fiat did announce it will release some preview photos of the Convertible on February 16 at 9.00 a.m. on the Fiat 500 C minisite but didn't mention whether it also plans to give us some technical specs.

There's no much to see in the blurred teaser photo unveiled by Fiat beside a Fiat 500 silhouette and a small clear dot confirming us that the convertible will indeed feature a folding-back canvas top covering the roof.

According to some early rumors, the convertible will be a four-seater model, with the rear seats a bit smaller than the ones on the standard Fiat 500. The trunk will be a bit smaller while the interior will be fairly the same with the original 500. Speaking of engines, the Convertible may be powered by exactly the same powerplants, including a 1.2- and 1.4-liter gasoline units. It's still unclear whether the Italian automaker is planning a 1.3-liter turbo diesel variant, as some rumors claimed.

Aside from all these features, the Convertible will also incorporate numerous functions aimed at reducing fuel and CO2 emissions, such as stop and go systems.

As mentioned, first photos with the Convertible will be officially rolled out on February 16 so keep an eye on autoevolution to see them as soon as published.
