As for the car itself, Ferrari insisted the changes made to the A version of the F10 are not so important, and revealed that the major upgrade developed by the mechanics for the 2010 single-seater will only see daylight during the next week's testing, in Barcelona.
“For this third test session the team set up the F10’s second chassis with the number 282. The car doesn’t sport any major updates compared to last week: just some minor aerodynamic and mechanical updates for these days, while the main novelties will be used next week during the tests in Barcelona,” said a statement from Ferrari.
Nevertheless, the Ferrari technicians seem to have come up with a brand new design for their rear diffuser, as the rear fascia of the F10 was covered through the first stages of the morning session.
The early hours of Jerez' testing today also witnessed the first official action of Lotus' 127 challenger, with 3rd driver Fairuz Fauzy completing 16 laps by the first hour mark.
After almost 2 hours of testing, Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel leads the timing reports with the best time of 1:29.053, followed by Williams' Rubens Barrichello (1:30.142) and Ferrari's Felipe Massa (1:30.327).
