Felipe Massa Looking for 2011 Team

As each Grand Prix goes by, it's becoming more and more unlikely that Felipe Massa will stay at Ferrari for another season. The Brazilian's contract with the Scuderia runs out at the end of December 2010, and the latest rumors on the drivers' market suggest his place could be taken by either Renault's Robert Kubica or Red Bull's Mark Webber.

After initially rumored to extend his Ferrari stay for another 3 years, something that no one actually bought into a few weeks back, Massa is reportedly evaluating his F1 future with another team. Finland's Turun Sanomat reported that his managers have already began negotiating with other strong teams for the 2011 campaign.

Talking about his future, Massa admitted that his first choice would be to stay at Ferrari, but knowing that his evolution in the series is linked with some strong teams gives him confidence for the rest of the ongoing season.

I like it very much at Ferrari – I know everybody and everybody knows me. But it is always encouraging to know that there are others with fast cars who are interested in me. The main objective is to continue with Ferrari,” said Massa.

The Brazilian is having a struggling season with Ferrari, despite being leader of the overall classification at one point. After 6 races, Massa is 5th overall in the drivers' standings, some 17 points behind leaders Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel, and 14 points behind teammate Fernando Alonso.

We have a long contract with Alonso, and we trust Massa. He is doing a good job,” team principal Stefano Domenicali was quoted as saying yesterday.
