The Audi RS7 is one fast car, but let’s face it, it’s not exactly the first name that comes to mind when thinking about drag racing. However, as it turns out, Russians have a different opinion on this, which is why they’ve recently come up with the fastest RS7 in the world.
The aforementioned title is given based on the quarter mile time, with a modified example of the five-door coupe pulling a pretty nice stunt during Stage 5 of the Russian Drag Racing Championship, which recently took place in Crimea.

The RS7 pulled a 10.1-second quarter mile, thus becoming the fastest in the world. This particular example of the car was gifted with an APR Total Race Stage 2 upgrade. As a result, the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 was taken from 560 to 750 hp. By the way, we’ll remind you there’s no S-Tronic double-clutch here. The 8-speed ZF automatic was used in order to cope with the massive torque.

The suspension of the RS7 doesn’t appear to have been tweaked, hence the rather hefty pitch that makes this Audi looks like it wants to eat you alive. Oh well, this kind of cars are usually the work-in-progress type, so perhaps the Audi will receive such an upgrade in the future.

What does it all mean?

To be honest, this isn’t that much of a big deal, since the stock RS7 does the quarter mile in 11.5 seconds. Then again, like we said, the aftermarket world doesn’t pay all that much attention to this child of Ingolstadt.

By the way, in case all this sounds a bit familiar, it’s because we’ve previously talked about these quick Russians and we’re referring to the fastest Jeep Grand Cherokee in Europe. Or perhaps it's because Audi has been making a big deal out of its autonomous RS7, which can lap a track almost as fast as a professional driver.
