When Paul Walker passed away in the fiery Porsche Carrera GT crash last November, the Fast and the Furious crew was deep into the production process of the franchise’s seventh installment. Over half of the scenes involving Paul Walker’s character, Brain O’Conner, had already been filmed, so the team had to come up with a solution.
Subsequently, various reports indicated that the producers would approach Cody Walker, Paul’s brother. This has now been officially confirmed, with both of Paul’s brothers, Cody and Caleb, se to join the Fast and Furious 7 crew - you can see them in the image above, with Cody sitting on Paul’s right and Caleb on his left.

Universal Studios recently used the Fast and Furious Facebook page to make the announcement. This comes after last month various sources indicated the movie would use a mix of body doubles and computer-generated images in order for Brian O’Conner to brings the quest to an end.

We’ll remind you that Fast and Furious 7 is one year away from its release, as the movie is scheduled to debut on April 15, 2015.

“We came together and all felt the only choice was to continue [...]. We have resumed shooting and now welcome Paul’s brothers, Caleb and Cody, into our FAST family. Caleb and Cody are helping us complete some remaining action for their brother and fill in small gaps left in production. Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us too,” the Universal Pictures statement reads.
