FAB Design Refines the Mercedes SLS AMG

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is a supercar that comes with a truly special bouquet of assets. The vehicle has one of the best pedigrees in the automotive history and those Gullwing doors are just as special today as they were back in the ‘50s when they were introduced on the SLS’s ancestor, the 300 SL.

But this is (literally) just the tip of the SLS iceberg, as the vehicle is actually all about performance. Another incontestable gift offered by Mercedes to the car is its engine. We are talking about a 6.2 liter V8 that delivers 571 hp and 651 NM of torque. The engine uses natural aspiration, so it offers a linear power delivery. And the list could go on for a few pages.

However, in the contemporary automotive world, there’s always room for improvement. Yes, we are talking about tuning. One of the companies that has taken a shot at making the SLS AMG a better machine is FAB Design.

The Swiss tuner offers a refining kit for the German supercar. Let’s start with the engine modifications. The V8 unit has received a power premium of 40 hp, so it now lets the driver play with 611 hp. The extra muscle shaves 0.1 of a second off the vehicle’s 0 to 62 mph time, allowing the car to cover the sprint in 3.7 seconds.

The SLS comes with a custom body kit that includes a fresh front fascia with generous air intakes and a lip spoiler, new side skirts, a roof-mounted air scoop, a modified rear bumper that houses two double exhausts and a rear spoiler.

The tuning package also includes a lowered suspension and a set of 20 inch alloy rims.
