Maharashtra is the second-most populous state of India, with a population 112-million and a territory 307,731 km2 (118,816 square miles). It is also one of the states which contribute the most to the nation’s GDP, so it’s a very important region to India.
The state government of the state has issued two policy changes regarding the registration of new cars, the first of which involves the reduction for the registration tax on imported cars, which has been reduced by 2% for petrol cars and by 6%for diesel cars.

The second policy involves the complete and utter exemption from tax of EVs, regardless of whether they are new or are being re-registered in India from another country. The government is expecting an increase in sales for EVs - that’s actually a good thing!
