Jeep has revealed the Euro-spec 2014 Cherokee ahead of its public introduction at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show next month.
Unlike its American twin, which can be had with a 2.4-liter Tigershark and a 3.2-liter Pentastar under the hood, the European Cherokee will become available with a 2.0-liter Multijet II turbodiesel, offered with either 140 hp and 350 Nm or 170 hp and 350 Nm.
The former will come with a six-speed manual gearbox, while the latter will get Chrysler’s brand new nine-speed automatic transmission, just like the 3.2-liter V6 Pentastar version. The 2.4-liter Tigershark will be offered only in Russia and the Middle East on a Sports trim level model.
European customers will be able to choose between three trim levels - Longitude, Limited and Trailhawk - and more than 100 Jeep and Mopar accessories. The vehicle will be available with a new front-wheel drive configuration and three four-wheel drive systems with rear-axle disconnect feature.
No word on pricing yet, but we’ll be right back as soon as we find out more.
