The man, husband of an Emirati woman executed for killing an American teacher, has been recently charged by the UAE’s Supreme Court with seven terror-related offenses, including joining the Islamic State and planning to bomb a US military base, as well as the Yas Marina Formula 1 circuit.
After some more investigations, it has been revealed that the man was also planning to attack an IKEA store in Abu Dhabi and to assassinate an Emirati leader. The suspect denied all charges.

His wife was executed in July 2015 after she was found guilty of murdering US teacher Ibolya Ryan in a toilet of an Abu Dhabi mall in December 2014, and also of placing a handmade pipe bomb outside an Egyptian-American doctor’s house.

One of the reasons the Islamic State, together with its many fanatics, attacks the United Arab Emirates is that the UAE is part of the US-led coalition responsible for carrying out air strikes against IS in Syria.

Because this threat is becoming more and more dangerous to the human race, authorities are taking measures by implementing more stringent rules, such as harsher jail terms, or, where possible, by introducing the death penalty for crimes linked to religious hatred, as Yahoo News reports.

It is probably the first time when a terrorist is plotting an attack on a Formula 1 circuit, but if he had carried out his plans, the disaster would have been of epic proportions.

The Yas Marina circuit was unveiled on October 30, 2009, and it's been part of the Formula 1 calendar ever since. The venue, with a capacity of 50,000 people, was designed by the famous Hermann Tilke, mostly known for the overhauls of the Hockenheimring, Circuit de Catalunya, Nurburgring, or the Fuji Speedway.

The German designer also drew circuits from scratch, such as the Sepang International Circuit, Bahrain International Circuit, Valencia Street Circuit, Marina Bay Street Circuit, the Circuit of the Americas in Texas, or the Sochi Autodrom.
