Elon Musk to Lose 10% of Tesla in Divorce

One of the downsides of being rich is that you may lose most of what you worked for in years in a very speedy divorce settlement, should the spouse decide to skin you alive. Or, as is the case of Elon Musk, the CEO of electric carmaker Tesla and founder of PayPal, you may lose just enough to make you lose your temper.

The divorce between Elon Musk and his wife, Justine Musk, has been announced by the Tesla CEO ever since 2008. At the time, he said they "had a good run," but they had married young took "it as far as we could." Currently, Musk in dating 23-year-old British starlet, Talulah Riley.

What's new is that Justine Musk has made up her mind about what she wants from the father of her five children. Below is what she wrote on her blog on May 8.

"For those who want to know the extent of my golddigging, this is what I asked for, from my ex-husband and the father of my five children Elon Musk, who is a billionaire and likely to become one of the wealthiest men on the planet.
  • The house
  • alimony and child support
  • 6 million cash
  • 10 percent of his stock in Tesla
  • 5 percent of his stock in SpaceX
  • (and he retains all voting rights)
  • and a Tesla Roadster (I really, really want one...)"

Apparently, Justine is pretty angry with Musk, adding towards the end of her post she would have settled, but the CEO decided instead to take her to court. She believes what she asks for is at least reasonable...
