They are the ones responsible for bringing to life the most breathtaking custom made vehicles, be it cars or motorcycles, or anything in between. Using all sort of design and/or technology tricks, they manage to emphasize the differences between individuals and create uniquely styled concepts.
The idea to create a “custom area” inside EICMA came as a necessity to satisfy both builders and fans, from an emotional point of view, but also to show the best on the international scene and help it gain international visibility. Furthermore, against current downhill market trends, the number of custom made vehicles is on a rise, which speaks for itself about the strong extent of such phenomenon.
Pure passion facing general public. A show within a show, a world that once entered, makes you forget about everything and feel like wishing to just let yourself drift to the most interesting arms of the automotive and motorcycling universe.
The initiative, a first of its kind, was bold, and everybody was waiting to experience the final result without, however, lacking reservations towards its success. The dynamic display of all those customized machines brought together by a common goal couldn’t just get unobserved or without leaving many of its viewers with wet dreams of several pieces out there.
The best Italian and foreign tuners were gathered under the same roof at the international event in Milan, in Pavilion 2 of Fiera Milano, the same which has historically been host to Harley - Davidson, Big Bear, CR&S, Headbanger, Confederate, Zero Engineering, Gray Indian’s Collection.
Among all the world premieres from every major motorcycle manufacturer out there, Custom City came as a breath of fresh air. This unique concept, which will return next year as well, managed to make its story heard.
Cars and motorcycles in a perfect blend, reunited by one purpose only: that of making you feel unique. Were the cars adorning the bikes, or the other way around? That is too much of a subjective call, so we’ll refrain ourselves from giving a clear verdict.
With each stand, emotions overwhelmed you. The chains surrounding them, as well as the restriction to touch these masterpieces, did nothing but enhance the exclusivity feeling and further arouse the interest of the visitors. The mystery aura hung over each machine, inviting you to try them.
Custom City had no show girls, but who would have seen them, even if they were there? It would have been only these wonderful artworks that would have gotten all the attention. It was more than enough to feast your eyes and heart, an epic journey on the personalization railroad.
Simple photos can only generate a placebo effect of what this area was all about maybe, but we just couldn’t leave without at least trying to get these wonders home with us. At least from a static, cold, and extremely small point of view.
The truth is that the idea of having a personalized car or motorcycle will never become dull. People will continue wishing for custom made vehicles to make a statement, to be different from the others, or to draw attention upon themselves.
