These past few years, hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid, low carbon vehicles have been all at the outskirts of auto shows around the world. Presented mostly as exceptions to the rule that says that internal combustion engines rule the world, these types of cars will get this year what was long coming to them: their own auto show.
Even if it's not the first of its kind, the Ecovelocity show will certainly be the first biggest of its kind. To be organized in September (in between 8 and 11) in London, on the grounds of the Battersea Power Station, the show will be the place to be for all those planning to see what's what in this sector of the industry and perhaps form a strong opinion of what “green” means for cars.
The organizers expect the show to be attended by some 30,000 people, who will flock to see this event. An event which, truth be told, will be not the best, but the single substitute for the British Motor Show, canceled back in 2009.
The event will be attended by pretty much all the manufacturers that mean something for the EV sector, including some that have declined to take part in the British Motor Show and caused its cancellation.
Unlike other auto shows, Ecovelocity will try a more hands-on approach, allowing visitors to go on test drive the cars present at the event. The show will also feature technology demonstrations, best-in-class awards from various organizers and a Green Supercar paddock.
