Few people know about this, but about a handful of Mercedes-Benz E 55 AMG of the W210 variety were not rear-wheel drive - like every other AMG model from the era except for the ML 55 AMG (W163) – but sporting 4Matic all-wheel drive, long before the Affalterbach nutters decided that almost all their future cars will come with more than two-wheel drive.
With that being said, among the rumored 15 examples of E 55 AMG 4Matic models ever built for general consumption, one of them arrived in Bulgaria, where the upholstery specialists from Art Studio Vilner got an order to transform its interior into something a bit more special than the already special standard one.

The result is pretty spectacular to say the least, as the ambiance in the car now sits somewhere between an English Lord's armchair and a 1970s Lincoln or Cadillac interior.

Some may absolutely adore it, while others will probably hate it, but there is no doubt that the new interior that Vilner gave this E 55 AMG will be making people talk about how special it is, and that is probably what the owner wanted in the first place.

A highly distinctive combination of various shades of brown leather – with “smoky cognac” being the dominant one – and perforated Alcantara is now adorning every touchable surface inside, including a flattened steering wheel.

The exterior has remained entirely stock, as has its performance, but who can argue with 354 hp and 530 Nm (391 lb ft) of torque for a premium sedan from at least twelve years ago?
