Here's a bizarre example of what can happen to an off-road bike after you've dropped it. This guy rides his KTM EXC 300 hard, loses control and spills on the side of the road, with no major injuries.
It's just the fact that he's off the bike and thus no longer controlling it... and that's when things start to go bad. It looks like has no kill switch, and for some strange reason, the throttle is still up and with the bike still in gear, rear wheel spinning fast and so on.
It was quite funny watching the poor rider trying to have the bike upright and the machine acting like a mechanical bronco, ruining it every time. Now, we still can't figure out why the guy does not pull the clutch, shift to the highest gear and try to stall the engine, or at least pull the clutch to stop the rear wheel form turning like crazy and then cut the gas valve.
Anyway, he guy has hopefully made it, despite all the burned rubber smoke and commotion, and maybe he gave second thoughts to having a kill switch installed.
