So Dodge just launched a new variant of the 2015 Viper SRT and they've called it the GTC. While the GT stands for, you've guessed it, grand tourer (turismo), care to guess what the C is about? Coupe? Compact? Chicken? Nay! As a matter of fact, the C stands for customization and boy the Viper GTC boasts with an unbelievable amount of custom-tailored bits and bobs.
With prices starting at $94,995 (10 grand more than the base model), the 2015 Dodge Viper GTC is all about the numbers: more than 25 million unique build combinations, with options such as 8,000 hand-painted exterior finishes, 24,000 hand-painted custom stripes, 10 wheel options, 16 interior trims, 6 aerodynamic packages and some standalone options.
Putting the GTC side by side to the original 1992 Viper and its lack of air con, anti-lock brakes and… well, everything, it's easy to understand just how much change was operated in the model's 23 years of existence. But there's a lot more to like about the Dodge Viper GTC than what we've mentioned earlier.
The FCA US LLC-owned automaker will send a complimentary 1:18 scale speed form replica of the car, as the ones you can admire in the photo gallery below, to Viper GTC buyers to confirm their color selection. Furthermore, each GTC model will feature a personalized instrument panel badge with the owner’s chosen name to commemorate their design. Now that's how proper auto customization should be!
Dealers will start taking orders of the new custom-galore Dodge Viper GTC models in February, with production scheduled to start at the Conner Avenue Assembly plant in the 2nd quarter of the year. An honorable mention though: the Viper's one-of-one customization program is available exclusively for customer orders, not for dealer stock. As such, no two customers can order the same configuration.
