As with most plans of this kind, some of the moves included in the complex rebirth strategy bring a knife to the game. In this case we are talking about the withdrawal of the Dodge brand from the UK market.
Dodge insiders have told autocar that Dodge will disappear from the UK market in the future. The move comes after the Journey MPV has been removed from the automotive producer’s offer due to the poor sales it had registered.
The same pathway has been followed by the other models in the automaker’s offer: the Caliber and the Nitro, which have recently been axed in the country.
Dodge is currently present in multiple European markets but this will change. In some of the countries, the brand will remain a niche one, while in others it will be completely removed, just like in the UK.
However, there is one future star model that is expected to be brought to the UK. We are talking about Dodge’s supercar, the Viper. This will be born as a 2012 model, but it is unclear yet if it will be present in Chrysler dealerships or will be imported by third-party companies.
While Dodge is being removed from the UK, the country will welcome Lancia models rebadged as Chryslers in the future.
