The industry has seen a few cases of four-door go-fast machines that lost ground in favor of super-SUVs, with the most important one probably being the Lamborghini Estoque, which lost its showroom spot in favor of the Urus. Fortunately, super-sedans are alive and kicking, with the adventure that brought us here delivering a fresh example of this, one that involves a Dodge Charger and a BMW 5 Series.
Note that we're not even talking about the top dogs here, since this is a Charger SRT 392 and an F10 BMW 550i, so we're talking about the second line here.

While I'm not sure of the Mopar machine's state, the Bimmer has been taken down the aftermarket path. Nevertheless, the Bavarian machine doesn't pack serious mods, as it only comes with a Stage One tune.

Unfortunately, the drivers of the four-door toys duked it out on the street, using the good old one-two-three start delivered by a passenger.

And while the drag race we have here might be the swift kind, it's safe to say that it manages to keep the audience on its toes from start to finish. So if you're willing to place a bet, now would be a good time to do so.

Please don't allow stunts such as the one seen here to become examples. To be more precise, you should head over to the drag strip when the sprinting urgest kick in.

Sure, some drivers prefer to avoid the extra drivetrain stress delivered by the prepped surface of the track. Then again, you can obviously go for a rolling drag race when you're at the strip. In fact, here's an example of such an adventure, one that saw the Palm Beach International Raceway welcoming a modded BMW M3 (this is an F80 model) and an R35 Nissan GT-R.
